In this Lifetime…

What you have given me in this lifetime is the reality of who I am.
You have taught me what it means to love a woman so whole-heartedly
You stood before me with tender words and tender thoughts.
A safety was felt when you surrounded me with your love.

But it ended all so quickly. For I believed that to lie was so painfully wrong.
I did not want you to suffer the Walls of Silence from your partner.
I did not know that in the end, the Walls of Silence would fall upon me once again.

If I could go back and change all the things I had done wrong.
But whom I am kidding, I know that is only in a fantasy.

There is not much left to hope for.
For all the damage has been done.

Now I stand alone with this pain that burns like a red-hot flame across my skin,
despite my glimmers of hope. It is not enough to put the fire out.

I think we have lost the battle.
Our land of dreams has been shattered.

If there is such a thing as another life, perhaps we shall meet again and then we will become friends and love the way it was meant to be....
